Intellectual property rights
Dr. Claudia Böckmann offers ongoing counselling of medium-sized companies or business newcomers on the protection of their copyrights, advertising projects, internet presence, of their trade name, trademarks and design rights. This includes research services, filing applications for industrial property rights registration, continuous collision survey of third parties trademark and trade name applications or change of names, deposit of trade marks at the customs and representation in cases of trademark piracy, cease and desist letters and enforcing client’s rights in court; consultancy and drafting of licence or research and development contracts; Dr. Böckmann offers all this worldwide, as far as legally allowed directly towards the offices (German Patent and Trademark Office, WIPO, OHIM). In other cases she works together with a 20-years approved network of foreign lawyers, whom she knows personally for the most part and whose reliability and qualification she therefore can evaluate from her own experience.

Medical products
Counselling of suppliers, especially manufacturers of medical products in the field of competition law (HWG), drafting and/ or checking contracts with health insurance funds, medical practitioners and (nursing) homes (SGB V), as well as giving legal advice concerning launches of new products, control and improvement of their client’s products.

Franchise Law
Foundation of new franchise systems, drafting of cooperation and framework contracts, counselling of franchisees on joining a franchise system, counselling of franchisors or franchisees on conflicts among each other, in and out of court. The goal here is mainly an amicable solution, as a franchise system depends on a trustworthy, long lasting cooperation.

• 1982-1986: Lawyer in an appeal law firm in Hamm (NRW)
• 1986-1992: Lawyer in a patent attorney law firm in Bremen
• 1992-2003: in-house lawyer with Reemtsma Cigarettenfabriken GmbH in Hamburg, as the leader of the department of intellectual property rights
• 2003: Joining the law firm Schlutius Rechtsanwälte, now SKW Schwarz Rechtsanwälte
